Making door the same way i made the running boards,and the tools needed to do the job

As i said the bottom of the door hit the front fender so i had to enlarge the radius of the doorway

Hi all,got a bit ahead of my self .I made hinge posts in true hot rod style recycled a belt cover from a paint stirer.I bought some industrial hinges and welded a piece on at right angle

 

The attaching holes for the hinges were made larger for door adjustment

 

useing the shrinker/stretcher i made the doors,this took quite a while

 

I used a sliding nut plate so i can adjust the doors up or down or in and out

 

Wow! the level of craftmanship in this is amazing! Well done.
P.S i'd kill for you're english wheel.

Hi all,when i started this build it was just a test to see if i could do it,now i have got this far its time to have a go at the chassis.Having never built a chassis it may be a steep learning curve,found a couple of pics in magazines and away we go

 

Lifted the body off,now i have enough body to lift off and split the chassis apart which leaves me with this.I also borrowed another chassis to sit the body on while i built mine

 

Great work, very interested in the running board fab. Did you just hammer the outer edge over the wooden buck? And what kid of wood did you use, a hard wood or something easy to shape like Pine? Oh, subscribed.

 

Hi Neilswheels,as i live inTasmania i used Tas oak[just joking] its a hard wood,just hammered the edge over buck with soft hammer

 

Bought a steel frame at auction so i used that to set chassis up on .Found an article in a mag that had some good pics

 

Had to pack it up to get the twist out.To the right u can see the rails sand blasted and primed

 

Welded on some uprights in the middle of the chassis at the correct width using a centre line and some blocks under to support the rail.These 4 blocks were put on level

 

Welded lots of blocks on inside of chassis to drill and tap for inner guards and running boards also to bolt body down

 

used the trammel rod to check for square

 

Then gave the rear a bit of a kick up just in case i bag it

 

man like everyone else on here i am amazed at the craftmanship on this build with that being said please tell me you were yanking our chain about bagging it tom
