And the boot,sorry trunk lid frame

 

Next was trying to mark around the edge of the boot lid to trim to size,by packing the frame up about 5ml and tacking in place i then made a tool to scribe a line around the edge with the corect gap

 

and a piece of ply to hold it at the right width

 

Next was onto the grill and bonnet sides .These were real ugly,looked like someone had left the crank handle in and given it a rev

Great work i have followed this build and love it.I have restored cars for almost 20 years now would not even have thought of building a car out of what you started with.It is a credit to you and your skill.

This is the first buck i ever made and i still have it

 

and a side on view with the bonnet nosed a little

 

I started to make the bonnet,bought a new set of lower anvils for my english wheel and after running the panel through once it had a high at either end and a hollow patch in the middle,found out that the top wheel is out of round. Thats the bad news.This pic was taken in September at a big show,sneek preview.

 

From this to the car above, amazing work, hats off to you fella.

 

finally getting a bit more done,welded in door pillars and fitted door locks

 

I had to make a punch to countersink the three bolts for the lock,the pin is to centre the female piece in the correct place then a couple of hits with a hammer and block

 

Next was to make the bracing for the doors,i needed to stiffen the metal so had to make a set of wheels for my beadroller.Every job leads to another job.

 

Had a good day yesterday and got the left door frame welded up and swinging ,keep the misses happy

 

Had some hinges cut for the boot, but couldnt get them to work

 

If at first you dont succeed try try again.Next i used a piece of wire to form a patern

 

Hi all ,just got back from the USA,first real holiday and had a really great time,met a lot of great people,ate too much food and the hospitality was exceptional.Thanks to every one we met for going out of your way to make our stay a memory that will last a life time Mitch.

 

I used the new wheels in my bead roller to form up the bracing for the doors along with a bender

 

and the trunk hinges made

Hi i desided to use alli for the trunk lid skin.I work on my own and its hard to use the english wheel by your self,so i invented a helper ,using a a length of chain a spring and a clamp

 

ive had about 6 goes at the skin sofar and its looking reasonable.

 

I need to make a bonnet for the car and i dont have a Pullmax or similar, so i will have to make it by hand.I bought a shrinking or tucking fork from Hoozier in USA and set about making a bonnet.I also bought a dvd on using a tucking fork.
