Start by hammering from the inner end of the puck and work your way out ,the first row were 3inches long then 2 then 1 inch

Notice I marked the top with a T,nothing worse than making 2 left hand sections

 

Next i ran the panel through the English wheel to iron the bumps out

 

I was quite pleased how this panel came out as it was the first time i had used a tucking fork.Next will be to make a bench / tool to bend the sides of the main section of the bonnet

 

Next was to fit electric windows ,this was made fairly easy because i dont have door skins fitted.I used chip board as a temporary mount to work out how thick the bracket had to be

 

Hi Mitch, those mechanisms seem to fit pretty neatly. What are they out of?

They are Dolphin ,most companies have the same set up.The only thing i would change is the attachment points for the glass by glueing a long channel to the bottom if useing triplex glass

 

Amazing amount of work going on down there.
Makes my project seem rather light in comparison!
You'll be a pro metalworker once it's done!

Hi Mitch, totally impressed here in Alabama! So....looking at the before and after pics, exactly what original metal is left? Again, looking good.

 

I pulled 4 doors apart and removed the antiburst bars ,then fitted them into the side of my car.

 

this is a pretty cool pic. is the standard grille club coupe prevalent down under? the american club coupes were always deluxes.

 

The original piece of the car is the section around the trunk lid and the body number

 

I made two of everything to make the job easier and quicker and once you have one side made its so easy to do the other side

 

I have been doing a lot of finishing of welds so not much to look at.Saturday i made a top bar for the bonnet side ,it tapers to the front so the bonnet will be more like a 37.

 

I also wanted a strip to cover the join between the two halves of the grill and found a trim off an Austin A40 bonnet and bent it to suit

Awsome job you are doing there " mate " Came across your thread and must commend you on your talents. I did a 39 tudor but not to the extent you are doing yours. As we would say "way to go buddy"

 

Made the other side for the bonnet sides

 

The next 2 bars are damaged and need to be repaired before welding the new top on
also setting the brake booster up and pedal assembly

 

The Deluxe is a little more popular, most people think it's better looking than the Club Coupe. There are not a lot of Deluxe or Club coupes here in Oz the 37 is much more popular.
