Go for it. It willmake a great little car:D

  7. Have been a couple of those made in Sweden. There is a ex Swede here on this forum that had one. It's Rolf that built the cool Flat-red A-bone that where in Rod and Custom last year.

Will see if i can get some pics!!

  8. For my taste, I see it as a sleeper. Slammed with a hot V-6, big's & little's, stock trim, even though the grill looks like an old International or some brand of tractor.

Note likeness to a 38 Chevrolet. Opel is a GM subsidiary to this day, supplying cars to be sold as Saturns and other makes.

  10. I dig this car, do it. I agree with Rich, nice little V-6 (or I-4) would make that thing go!

Cool body style, I followed one for about 3 miles until he pulled into a parking lot, just to get a better look at it and figure out what it was. Read Rich's post (#8) again and go for it....

Ecotec 2.2 power! Opel was involved in their design. But maybe those engines are not anymore readily found in Germany than Hemis.

Gadzooks man! Don't mention tractor grilles on here, for the love of God!!:D

I think it would be a sweet little project. Either up in the sky, gasser style or even slammed and shaved with a mean little V8 in it. I'd drive the snot outta that thing!

There is a Russian version of that car ( licencebuilt by Moscovitch )

I think there was a HAMB member with one at some point...

Here are a couple of pics.
( not really Trad builds, but you might like to see them anyway...)

  19. Just before I got out of the AF back in '65 a buddy and I had a built Mercury 383 and we bought a '38 Open in a junk yard for $30. He got out, I got out and I wound up with the motor and we never did get the Opel.

    Hey thanks!
Think i go the cleaned+slammed route first.Cops are no fun here.So the sleeper look might work best, first.
Funny,i had the hot V6 idea too.Very short engines, that will fit easily and make enough power.Maybe a hopped up cologne v6.Plenty here.
An all aluminium small v8 would be best in my opinion, but they are impossible to get here.
Had a small 60 Olds with that engine, and it ran quite strong!

    thanks,
    OldschoolOlli
    ..gotta get that thing..

How about Omega 3000 engine and drivetrain?
    Traditional, not. Fast, yes.
And you´re not going to run without hood anyways.
I think you can find those pretty easy in germany.
