Good ideas, and thanks for the photoshop. Funds are not an issue, and motivation are not an issue. Hell, I just finished a Herbie the Love Bug replica just because someone gave me a 62 ragtop bug. My girls love it. I'm kinda feeling the lowrider vibe, or the El Mirage push car. I'll pick it up tomorrow and see if it can be a runner first without a transplant. Or maybe lavender with cream scallops and 15 inch Boyds and a charcoal tweed interior, SBC 700r4 .....

  5. I like it! If I didn't have my current project, and somebody offered it to me I'd take it in a heart beat! I had a buddy that had one 'stock' back in the early '70s that was great fun to cruise in.

  6. Exactly I wouldn't run anything less that 18s on it and Dubs would be better. :D

Ahh Bowtie. I just knew you'd end up posting on this thread. Let me know what the stupid question is. You post a lot on HAMB. Reminds me of a saying:
A wise man has something to say.
A fool has to say something.

I know gassers are kind of the "in" thing right now, but.... I always liked the look of 4 door altereds. How cool is it to show up with the engine set so far back you sit in the back seat, and get in and out of the back doors. And you can open up the front doors to chenge the plugs!

  13. I gotta dual carb, fenton header, edgy head flathead six that would make that into a killer family beater!

Seems if you do not know what to do with it. You have no abilities to do anything with it.

  18. my wife fell in love with a 38 Chrysler that was so rusted out there was no real way of saving it. If it were closer and reasonable, I would love to get my hands on it and make her a happy camper....:D

Black and White with police markings? i liked the taxi idea as well.

it would be an oddball of a bomb- definitely not a budget build either.

do you have another hot rod? make this up to be a pit wagon, tow vehicle, pushcar for whatever else you have?

Here's a "quick & dirty" Photoshop in the hot rod taxi cab type paint job. With about a 3 inch chop, an early hemi & 4 speed, I can see it banging gears down the road scaring the hell out of little old ladies & Tuners :D

I like the chop, but I think it needs to be painted like one of these cars. I like the first one best.

Then, use it for a Bonneville/El Mirage push vehicle! Have I mentioned this before? Lol!

I say just get it home. Sell it if you don't want it or don't want to put the time into it. Why keep it hanging around collecting dust? These are pretty cool cars in their own right. It would make a great beater/family car. I say find a caprice or other big car with similar wheelbase and put the body on the parts car chasis. Save alittle time and money really. Could be done fairly cheap. Still yet if you don't want it post it. Good luck.

I don't know who's car that is but it is real sharp and I really don't like 4 doors that much. The builder has really enhanced the lines and the color is outragious (uh in a good way).

Hmmm. I just paid for an rebuilt engine and tranny combo, in Stockton Ca, this morning that would be purrrfect for that car!

1946 Packard 356 straight 8. Wish you were closer- we could team up!:D

It's home, and a few hours later the ole flathead 6 runs. Bled the brakes, stuck a battery and a gallon of gas with an electric fuel pump and it's a runner. A little rough, but all there. As an added bonus there are 3 fake 14 inch centerlines in the back seat, and some dirt bike plastic in the trunk. I'm still going over options.... My 6 year old girl, not a fan of the 4 door orphan..

Woops. Sorry. Should've said no vision. Plus I strongly feel that FNG thing that's thrown around on the site is empty meaningless trash talk. I have seen many posts by people with an FNG status that had far more talent than people who have several thousand posts.

NIce would make a nice sled... Low slow and lean.. Chopped, Channeled and totally smoothed. Painted dark Charcoal metalic with a tan leather interior. Modern V6 Drivetrain with Chrome Stealies and dog dish hubcaps....
