I like the 37 Taillights better, but I do have a pair of 39 Taillight rings, I am just waiting to find a Zephyr to put them on. Ha Ha Ha
The 4 door is sitting too low on the trailer to get the doors open. After it's unloaded there's no tellin what else is in it??? I'm including a few more pics in the raw. Kinda like Christmas isn't it? I still haven't been able to get the trunk open yet on the coupe. Don't want to destroy anything. Taking my time. That's a shame about the tailight rings, maybe the '38's are in the trunk. These cars were used to run moonshine according to the previous owner. The Mercs and Lincolns had the big trunks which made them ideal. I found 2 gallon jugs in the back floor of the coupe. Can't get the lid off one of them but it appears to be about 10% full of everclear....may just be water?? Anyway, it's a cool find! It's no wonder that these cars have never been found. You guys can't believe what I went through to get these cars! I hope that every car guy has a chance to experience the excitement of recovering cars that are so rare. I enjoy the HUNT most of all! As a matter of fact, I'm on the trail of another car you guys will enjoy. I can't believe the 40 Ford coupes that have surfaced within 30 miles of me! Located 2 and trying to make contact with the owners. These are barn cars that are tough to find. You hear so many stories, but to me, they don't exist until I can lay my hand on them! Killer score! I hope ya got a better deal than the original quote??? I got a 38 coupe and a 39 four door thats pretty sweet OG condition 4 drs up for grabs maybe?? If ya need help with it let me know as I got some spare 38 stuff. LTR Dave
foghorn,congratulations...great find!!that`s the thrill of my everyday `s life in Mexico... the exitment of the hunt,lots of stories around until you really can touch the real car finally....mmm,love it!! havin a 40 3 window myself and following since some time a 38 3w i will say CHOP IT!! is not an original car anymore,improve it then....sled PS.I`m sure the 3w will be a blast in the great artist hands....once done!
