I ran across this tech article on FB the other day. I thought it should be shared on the HAMB, so I contacted Gary Manley and asked him if I could share it on the HAMB. Gary was okay with that. Turns out Gary has trouble navigating the HAMB but does fine on FB. I am just the opposite. I would much rather post something here. So what you see below is Gary's tech. You may have seen Gary's black G***er nose high style 39 Ford Coupe at some event in the US as he must have the most driven 39 ford on the planet He has covered most of the US,some of Canada and I think he drove it to Alaska too. This is how I did my window fuzzies. The metal bead has to slide so if the ends are crimped from cutting I opened bead back up with small screwdriver. I started near the middle and worked around. Easier than starting at end because of the bead. Made plywood buck. Two pieces screwed together. Depending on whether I am doing p***enger or driver side will determine how I screw them together. I punched holes through the fuzzy and used staples like original, folding them over with needle nose.
I have done this job twice. Not fun either time. Even when I was able to buy kits it wasn't easy! Gary's technique looks like it will yield good results without the usual frustration. Sure is! I wonder how many times he has replaced the drive train in that 39? I think that might have been on his trip to or from Alaska.
Im in the UK, can anyone help with what these are? Ive found this over here, would this work? https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/p-1025-window-weatherstrip
CW Moss offers this kit. It is a good way to get the job done. I used one of these kits on a 38 Deluxe Tudor and a similar kit on my 40 coupe which had 39 doors. You may not get the excellent results that Gary did by bending his own but you get everything you need to do the window felt and the guides/channels for the windows.
Another source for 4foot long pieces. I should buy these for myself as i need some for my 39 CS. You can see these are made a little differently than the offering you showed.
I hope it works well for you. Like all kits they are not perfect but usable with a little fine tuning.
