I need to know how much the push rod should travel so I can set my pedals in place and build some stops. I am using Ansen Style swing pedals which are adjustable, but I need a starting point for reference. Thanks!

I would quess 1 1/4"- 1 3/8", but wouldn't it be better if you had the master cylinder you intend to use, so you would know for sure? What is critical is to make sure the master bottoms out before the pedal.
Why not use a dual master instead of the old single?

Thanks Bob, that's what I needed to know! I thought I would damage the master by bottoming it out, I'll check it out. I know I should probably use a dual but I am trying to stay true to the car and I am going to re-use the aluminum firewall.
