Anyone ever run this combo? Any tips? I know I have to trim the spindles at the top and change bearings and races. I was going to just run the buick drums on my 39 brakes but got some f1 brakes today.:D

if you use the 40 backing plates you dont have to grind the spindles,i have seen where a litlle grinding is done to the lip of the backing plate on the outer inside edge, even after machining the inside of the buick drum, this was with 40 hubs i am planning to do the same thing using the f1 hubs iam hoping they will sit out a hair further but im not counting onit.as far as i know the f1 hubs work great you just have to turn the backs down on a lathe and chamfer the inner bearing.so you will just have to get the 12"backing plates.hope this helps.
