Hi, First sorry for my English, I need some practice. My name is Laurent, I am a coatchbuilder but now I work like a mechanical engineering with cnc. For my free time I build the motorcycle and I restore the car specially metalshapping. My project is a Lincoln zephyr conversion. It's not exceptional but I would like to share my experience and to exchange your ideas and experience to.
Welcome @Enzo78...Laurant...stretch, cut, chop, roll, shrink, weld, hammer & voila...Masterpiece. We're ready...bring it on...
Me too. You guys and gals in Europe just amaze me with your craftsmanship and abilities to make something from nothing!
Laurent. This is a great project and look forward to seeing your work to evolve the Lincoln into a coupe. Thanks for sharing.
Looking forward to seeing your work. If you search the HAMB, there's a Zephyr (in Sweden?) Sedan converted into a Roadster which was well done. Also an early 40's Cadillac 4 dr conversion (Australia?). Here's a 39 Ford 2 dr Sedan converted to a Coupe: https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/39customs-kustom.1053854/ While it's not a Zephyr, the basic plan and workmanship is on track with your project and you might learn some building tips from his project. Same would apply for other conversions such as 40 Willys Sedans converted to Coupes.
Thanks @Hot Rods Ta Hell, a lot of good project in HAMB. I saw the zephyr convertible, it's a big job ! Very interesting about the 39 ford, I will follow the project.
Here is my 39 Cadillac that Hot Rods ta Hell referred to. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/39-cadillac-custom.937692/#post-10554970 Palle Johansen's 39 Zephyr is a work of art. https://www.customcarchronicle.com/custom-cars/the-stoustrup-lincoln/
Enzo... Best of luck to you with this build ! Zephyrs are cool from the factory, the 4Dr's included. But as Roger O'Dell, Gary Howard, Rick Dore, and many others have done, they can truly become "rolling art sculptures" ! Jonnie www.legends.thewwbc.net
@dutch deuce Zug is the beautiful place with a lac and mountain! did you go there? there speaks German, I live in the french speaking part. @Jonnie King Thank's , it's a big project but I have a time.. I think take 5 or 6 years to make this because all is rust, used.. ( engine, seat, body, electrical...)
No i have never been in Switzerland, but hope to get there someday. It's good they speak German as i do too. No French for me except for some words. Hennie
