Technical 39 olds frame # location

I'm trying to help a friend find where the frame #,s are on his 39 olds sedan. he has cleaned the side of the frame on the left front with out any success. That's where my motors manual said it should be but its not there. Can some one here shed some light on where it is.

Found this on the net:
1939 Oldsmobile

Look on the left frame side bar opposite the steering unit. It should also be stamped on the left frame rail over the rear axle.

 

It's not there he has cleaned that area and found O numbers

They list a year model advisor for 1939 in Orange County CA.

 

It should also be stamped on the left frame rail over the rear axle.
