Asking for a friend that has a 39 2 door sedan. He's having trouble changing the rear side windows. He says there isn't any room for his hands. Is there any easy way to change these? Thanks
If they are like a 42-8 Tudor the entire interior sheet metal un bolts and the mechanism and gl*** comes with it after you pull the garnish molding off
The inner panels don't come off a 39 Ford tudor. He'll just have to tilt them the right way. I don't which way is the right way though, it's been twenty years since I've done it.
We just discussed this not too long ago on the HAMB. I had to replace the rear quarter gl*** on a 38 Ford Deluxe Sedan several years ago and I can only remember it was a tough project. I think I broke one gl*** pane before I figured it out. I think I ended up installing the regulator loosely first.,then lowered the gl*** through the top setting into the channel. Then once I was happy withit's forward and back orientation I worked the gl*** down into the channel. I think I used a a towel on top of the gl*** and used a wooden block and rubber hammer to set the gl*** in the channel. The link below is the only one I know that even comes close to explaining this process. Good luck. http://www.vanpeltsales.com/FH_web/flathead_gl***install-40-46_pg5.htm
