Completely rebuilt three speed toploader transmission using the 78 series case, 81 series double detent shifter, and a good used 1947 gear set. Absolutely no pitting or damage on any of the gear teeth. All wear parts have been replaced, including mainshaft ball and roller bearings; cluster shaft, roller bearing and thrust washers; reverse idler shaft; brass synchro rings; synchro springs and balls; shifter detent springs and balls; throwout bearing, and clutch release shaft and bushings. Transmission assembled with the correct bearing lock rings to control end play tolerances as original. The transmission includes a good used u-joint, shift lever, and shifter retainer parts for the shift tower. The rear bearing retainer and the clutch release shaft are the 1942-48 style. All parts have been cleaned and painted prior to assembly except the shift lever and cap which have been stripped bare and cleared so you have the option to paint or plate those parts. The purchase price of $1200.00 includes shipping in a sturdy wooden crate to anywhere in the lower 48 states.
