Hot Rods '39 transmission cluster gear question

Hey fellas,

I ordered a new cluster gear for my 39 toploader trans. I recieved it in the mail today and it looks a bit different then the one that was in there

My old one has like 2 tabs at the top, and some kind of race, and the new one has 4 slots and no race...but looks the same otherwise.

Will I be able to use this? or should I send it back tomorrow..

I wanted to put it in this weekend so I can make it to GNRS.

You'll have to get the right endplay spacers. They are available from VanPelt sales.

The one on the left is always the same as far as I know.
