Technical 39 vs 40-48 brake drums

Yes I tried a search, but I need to confirm in my memory banks if the later 5 on 5½ drums can just replace the wide 5s on my 39. Yes I'm gonna run the wide 5s, but I also have what seems a full set of the later 5 on 5½s. Simple drum swap or are there adapters, bushings, spl bearings or any other blah blah blah involved. Yes, 39 juice brakes in place too so can I just put on the drums and swap out wheels at will?

 

Yes, you can just swap drums, but as I'm sure you're aware, might be a good idea to lap the rears to the axles to the "new" drums and hubs. Unless you separate the hubs from the drums but that's a pain.

 

Yup, just swap the drum/hub ***embly same bearings as 39 will work in the later hubs no issue.

 

Thanks all, I needed help cleaning the cobwebs in my brain. Over time I'll likely do as @Nailhead Jason and add chrome wheels and whitewalls. The fun part being able to swap at will.
