I absolutely hate this search engine !!! I have punched in 390, 390 swap, 390 in a 54 Ford..????...I know I have seen it somewhere. I went back 20 pages, nothing.. Now, I do know the frames are not the same. I am building a 53, but can get the 54 frame.. the question is, my 390 has front sump, and I need rear. is there an oil pan to fit.?? 1964-390 thanks all.

Seems like I recall the later trucks had a rear sump pan, but could be mistaken.

Four wheel drive pickup with a 360 or 390 had rear sump pans. Get the oil pickup tube that goes with the pan and the dipstick.

If you are doing the 390 in a '53 frame contact by pm slim53, He did a 390 in a Shoebox swap you use the same mounts for the 52-53 Ford as the shoebox, you can get the mounts from Speedway.

I believe you just use the Y-Block mounts to put the 390 in the '54 frame, I think you just turn them around or flip them from one side to the other.

Yblocks mounts work when turned around/flipped. Lucky_1974 did this on his '56 convert.
