First off let me say I don't know dick about hemis, but yesterday I went strolling thru a local wrecking yard, just minding my own bussiness when I come upon a 50's mopar of some sort. What caught my eye was a complete hemi motor, carb to oilpan. I believe it said super red ram on the valve covers, only had a 2 barrel carb if that helps. PM me if you want to know where, I don't need it.

I have found 2 Chrysler Industrial 354's in the last month at the same yard. One turned over when i got it home the other I took the heads off and it looked great. But I only paid scrap price for them. (That's $0.15 a pound)

Possibly already bored-out to the max. Those things pumped a lot of water since the 50's :)

Either way they were both complete motors with a lot of good usable parts on them.

If you build it the right way, you'll have about 3-5 grand in nickel and dime shit. That's from experience my boy. From the fan to the tranni and the special intake/carb set-up of your choice. So budjet the 3 grand purchase, and the 3-5 grand in parts/machining costs, and you'll have the perfect street/strip 392!!!!And of course, the WOW factor is nice too.

On the other hand,GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT.
(My Granfather's words of wisdom)I paid a grand for my 392.Deals are out there.Good luck Pal
