392 hemi alternator suggestions

    Need info on a small high amp alternator to fit in a 32 ford 3 w 392 hemi. Hotheads bracket lower mount is installed but a GM alternator hits the Vega steering box. Need a smaller body high amp alternator. All you hemi heads out there, i could use some ideas. thanks

    I think you're on the right track looking at bracket choices 1st.
    I really like Q.E.C. and they may offer an option that you haven't seen.

    If I remember they make kits that use a Chrysler alt. (imagine that!)
    Great guy, very knowledgable and you can actually get him on the phone.

    I used a GM cs121 about the size of a softball, it came will a self exciting voltage regulator for one wire hook up. I had to modify the bracket but no big deal.
