Yeah, I saw that on the "3 window" thread...didn't look like 3 years worth of progress though. Looks like the project may have stalled...too bad.

Fantastic thread, praying we have some new progress. OP is an incredible metal worker. Huge respect. Once you mess with original body lines it can go awry all too easily. When I saw the photo with the Lasalle trunk lid sort of propped in place back on page 1, I was stoked. Just so good. I really want this one to get under its own power. Beautiful.

Sorry, yes the thread has gone dead but the work has continued.
Building a custom car has always been a dream of mine. I initially thought a custom would be less complicated but I would now say a "Kustom means yes you can use many parts from many different vehicles but nothing is going to fit and everything has to be re made modified etc. to make it happen". But I haven't lost interest its just taking longer than expected.
    Here some update pictures!

My trunk lid turned out to be swiss cheese after it was media blasted so most of that was remade.
Inner fenders made from scratch since the car is channeled that had to be done.
Trying to maintain the original look as much as possible.

The rear fenders now have the frenched 1948 Hudson tail lights going in. The other fender I am in the process of re doing the curvature of it to match the other one closer.
Recessed the license plate and modified the original trunk handle to fit. It now is push ****on operated.

The ch***is ( frame ) is complete and has all been ***embled with the suspension drivetrain exhaust, custom stainless steel gas tank etc. I hope to get the engine fired over the winter then find someone that can get the 700R4 kick down cable dialed in before it all goes in the painted ch***is.

Finally some shots of the hood sectioning and fender wheel opening reshaping.

Wow. Thanks so much for the update. Speechless.
If this shot doesn't get your motor runnin', you might be dead inside.
The shape, proportions and flow are impeccable.
I'm sure there are career industrial designers out there that haven't created something this exceptional.
    Just astounding.

Thanks for your kind words Paul, and all who chimed in.
I recently picked up a set of my favorite hubcaps I will have to reverse the rim or get two with flatter centers to make them work.
