Any chance someone would send me the model. I'm doing the same thing. just did the block and heads. Then searched for models on google and here I am. I will be able to offer a modeled blower and intake shortly. I am using acad.

  4. To the ten zillion people who have downloaded the 3D smallblock---A gentleman named Tony Briski has finally added the bosses for the starter, oil filter, and fuel pump to the block. I an going to attach .zip files here in Solidworrks, also as .step files and as .x_t parasolid files.---Brian

    this one is .x_t parasolids

  11. You have to zip it into a .zip file first.

  13. Do you want to get famous?? I just mounted the fuel pump to the fuel pump boss on the new small block file submitted by Tony Brisco, and something didn't look right.---So---I ran out and looked at the engine in my hotrod, and sure enough---There is a plate about 3/16" thick that sets in between the fuel pump and the block. I can't really get at it to measure and model it, so I want someone out there in CAD land to make an accurate model of that plate and post it on here as a .step, or .sldprt or .x_t file. That way I can add it to the model which I have hosted on MediaFire so that people downloading the smallblock from the link will get accurate information.---Please---Brian

  14. OJ---The file you posted is a .iam file, which can only be opened by people running "Autodesk Inventor". please do the world a favour and resave it as a parasolid .x_t file. or a .stp or .step file, or as a .sat file so that folks with a different brand of 3D software can open it.---Brian

  15. Hot Damn---Finally---Thanks to the model Tony Brisco sent me of the block with the bosses added, I am able to add the starter, the fuel pump, and even the oil filter to the model, in the correct place!!!---Now if somebody can just send me that fuel pump mounting plate, I will add that to the model and post a link here so that anybody can download the updated model of the entire engine.---Brian

I run a business doing 3d design for hotrods. My company name is consumingair. I have done work for rad rides by troy, Airride tech., Bowler transmissions, holley, paxton, ect. some of my work can be seen on the ridler winner 2 years ago that troy built. I desinged the wheels, rear suspension, brakes, hubs ect. on the 36 ford called first love.
I think this database is a great Idea. I have some files that people may want how do I upload files to the database.

  20. 100MPH Wheelspinner--Probably the best way is to host them somewhere like Mediafire.com (a free site) and post the link here, otherwise expect to get a zillion emails asking you to email the files to people.:D:D---By the way, what software are you using?-I use Solidworks, and people drive me batshit wanting me to save everything as Inventor, Solid Edge, Catia, Ideas, Pro Eng.---You name it!!!

I have taken the small block and added bolt holes and stepped the head back. I have used it to design a twin supercharger setup and I know that the measurements that I took are accurate enough to design to.
Here are some renderings of sum stuff that was on the goodguys airride give away chevelle.

  23. Sounds like you and I do much the same thing www.rupnowdesign.com I take it you have some type of photo rendering add on package. I work in Solidworks 2008 and my models don't look nearly that flashy.

  25. Do you have the latest Solidworks, ST? Holy shit it rocks and saves shit-tons of time with the dynamic editing and all that stuff........ It's what we are using at school and I just got a copy here on my home cpu. WOW..... This is a cool thread, I will show it to my instructor. He was the first to teach CAD in the country, here in Lansing........

  27. oj--Ya did good fellow---This is the magneto that you posted. If anybody using Solidworks opens the .zip file and get rebuild errors, then export the file as a .x_t parasolid and then re-import it to get rid of the rebuild errors.---Brian

I am having some difficulty getting the files from the index. If someone could be so kind as to help me out that would be great. I would like the SBC with all the goodies. Anything else would be great. I plan on doing up some 94's in solidworks for anyone that is interested. I might try to do more. Anyone have any suggestion for desired parts.

I also plan on modeling my Twin-traction beam set-up using two original Model-A axles. should be interesting.....
