Some 3D test pics. It Kind of works for cars... The following is posted from another forum.. INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIEWING: If you are not familiar with crossed stereoscopic viewing then I hope this helps you out a bit. Distance of eyes to screen should be about 1-2 feet away depending on the size of your monitor, obviously the smaller the screen the closer you want to be if your new to this technique) Find a nice bright small object in the image (either side) and cross your eyes till the two separate images of the object becomes one. While still looking at the object relax your eyes and now start looking at the rest of the object and voila your viewing a 3D Image. If you're still having problems with this then try placing your index finger about 6 inches from your eyes and in front of the image. Now focus your eyes on the tip of your finger, now slowly lower your finger but keeping your eyes focused as if the finger was still there and now start looking at the image, again without loosing that focus point you had with your finger there. The image is probably a little blurry so slowly adjust your eyes just slightly to bring the image into focus and you should now (if you did not loose your focal point) be viewing in cross-eyed vision. NOTE: Contrary to what your mommy may have told you, your eyes won't get stuck making you permanently cross eyed. In fact many Eye Vision doctors use techniques similar to this to strengthen some types of eye problems. This is not cars but is very 3d so you can see how it can look.. just a few pics from here done with the software. Its can be a little tricky but fun. Jdee
I had trouble seeing them at first, but it seems once you do get into focus its easy the next time. the cars don't come out as wild as the First pic done by the pros though. I had to move back from my Monitor a bit. its is a bit tricky. Once you do see it its crazy how it works. Jdee Oh they are probably to big on a smaller screen sorry.. My monitor is at 1680x1050 resolution. I'll resize..
I noticed it works much better on my LCD monitor. The thicker gl*** on the CRT seems to throw them off a bit not as clear.. I guess some schools want nice 3d images for text books and this might be away for them to do it. The space shots are real neat. Jdee
****! I can't do it I have this condition in my left eye where nothing comes into focus. I can't tell you how much time I wasted as a kid trying to see those stupid magic pictures.
I can't get it to work. I even took my gl*** eye out and held it at arm's length - Still only 2D. >.(
It works AWESOME for me, just out of curiosity, is it normal to see the devil when looking at these images? Actually, is it normal to see three images? The center is 3D, the peripheral ones are out of focus?
