I got a FoMoCo reman alternator from a 99 Taurus. The v belt pulley that I have is from a late 70 Thunderbird which has a tall shoulder on the bottom and covers the entire alt shaft.
Are there any oem or aftermarket pulleys with a bit of a recess on the back IMG_20231104_095825153.jpg

Can you just put it on backwards so the shoulder points forward ?

Do you have a friend who owns a lathe. Bout 5 minutes worth of work to remove the boss.

Most alternators I’ve fooled with had the same diameter shaft, Ford and GM. So you don’t have to limit your search to one make, just make sure they have the same shaft diameter.
