I decided to use 3M 08090 adhesive to attach the insulation to the underside of my hood, because of the heat-resistance issue. How long do I have to "work" the insulation into place before the adhesive sets up for good? I couldn't see anything on the can, and looked at a bunch of different threads, without finding an answer. Thanks in advance for any constructive comments. :)

I've used it for years, remember to spray both surfaces.

Spray just the back side of the insulation and it will only be temporary and will not stay in place. HRP

If it is contact adhesive there is no working time. you touch the pcs together and that is it....

    I use 3M Foam Fast 74.
I think it's a bit more expensive but it really holds.
I use it for all kinds of things.
It is good for headliners where they attach to the window surrounds, fender welting, etc.
