Well would ya look at that, another year has passed and pretty quick here we'll be heading back into the dreaded winter months.

Know what that means? It's nearly time for our yearly Alberta H.A.M.B members meet n' eat!

Now, as always we have a couple weekends we would like to aim for and once we get a solid idea of what weekend works for the most people I'll call up the owner of the Diner here in Red Deer and make sure we are good-to-go. Dig?

There is no requirment or restrictions for who can attend. Don't have your rod or custom on the road? No problem, just come as you are and have lunch with us like-minded individuals. Bring the wife and kids!

Please use the poll above to answer what day works for ya'll and lets get a good turnout this year! The first year was great, second was a lot of fun but lacked on the turnout side of things.

Here's some threads from our previous years:

17th-18th works best for me but I can swing the 24th or 25th as well.

Outstanding! Thanks for organizing this, Graham!

I voted Sept. 24th (and subsequently split the vote, lol) but only because of the Radium show being on the 17th, which may affect attendance. However, in the event of a conflict between those two, the get-together will take priority for me. :D

So in reality, any of the other dates would work, and the tentative dates are already marked on my calendar!

It's also Southern Albertas biggest show and shine in High River on the 25th.

    Good to know Bob,

seems like we'll have lots of competition but it can't be helped.

It appears that the two weekends chosen have the least number of competing events though, judging from the NW Cruise Calendar. Unfortunately they're big ones!

Anyone heading south from the Edmonton area could (in theory at least) stop in at the Diner on the way to High River, so maybe having those two events on the same weekend wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

I'd be up for both, but I'll be in an O/T vehicle and wouldn't be entering the High River show, just attending. So my experience will be different from those members interested in taking their rods to both events.

Well I already know about it, but you better tell that other guy :p

  10. Probably the 25th works best for me, but I'll try to make any day. The 24th is my daughter's birthday, but maybe she wants a burger!

Anyone ever given a burger as a first wedding anniversary gift? That's on the 18th.

  12. I voted for the 25th but that's just me giving myself another week in the near impossible goal of gettin my ride on the road. Anyday is good for me though.

Well, the traditional first anniversary gift is paper, so if you throw in a napkin you're good! Or a milkshake to go, in a paper cup. :D

    Bump.

THIS year, I'm coming. Any of the dates work for me, but I have a better chance of being able to bring a running old car on the 24-25th weekend. Keeping in mind the High River dealie, I'll vote the 24th.

  19. Looking forward to it! Hopefully the new engine in the roadster holds it's guts in this time.

Oh and I just want a hamburger! Don't care what day as long as the weather is nice!

I heard Graham was buying for everyone....

I would like to check this out as I probably know none of you people. As far as dates go, I'll be in High River for that show. I'll keep an eye on this thread and I'll post if i can stop by.

    Thanks

Seems like the 24th is the prefered date by most everyone... should I book the 24th and hope for the best?

Peter, if you keep missing these things you'll find yourself of the very exclusive club of "Those peoples who's names I actually remember at the swap meets" haha
