    Well Guys and Gals since the winter months are starting to set in and there will be a long period to create something new in our garages it's time to announce the official 3rd Annual Bicycle Build Off!!!!

    When: May 10th, 2008
    Where: The Zettle Bros. Speed Shop, in the heart of Forreston, IL
    What Time: 10:00am til ?
    Open to: Bicycles, (of Course) scooters, wagons, pedal cars, trikes, and stollers
    No motors allowed on machines.

    I have been thinking about what I want to do for next year. Just need to collect the parts now.

    I hope i can make it this year... but with 2 kids on the way, I doubt I'll have a bike built. I should start on a 2 seater trike though :D

    i cleaned my garage.. no more bike parts laying around...

    I will start looking around in my neighbors garbage ....

    lets make a hamb thing to. i need something to ride next summer, as well as next semester when im on a bigger campus. this could be lots of fun.

    I'm a building! Progress has slowed a bit because of some real work, but at least I have some money now.

    Is the guy from Miami coming to Foreston???? :eek: Got a long distance award? :rolleyes: He's got to ride the bike in, right? :D

    I have 2 bike that I can build. Not real sure what way I wanna go yet. It'll be a last minute thrash for sure

    Is there anyone really planning on coming? We really haven't seen much interest and at this point were thinking of maybe cancelling all together.

    thats funny you posted some pics from autorama i am the vintage and kustom bike builder over there at college cyclery. here are a few of my bikes

    this is the red dingo it started as a cruiser frame i found in the trash and went with it from there. a friend of mine showed me his cruiser with an upside down stem setup and i liked it so much i had to try it

    this is the ratty truck it won the 2008 rat rod bike build off on ratrodbikes.com started out as an original paint 1947 schwinn cycle truck and i ended up with this

    the higgins is the bike i am known for i guess. whatever i just love the way this bike looks and rides

  27. ...Hey Mike/Steve,...did you guys recover that seat on the boardtracker...or buy it somewhere?....I've got a couple old seats that need new covers, wonderin what to use and how difficult it'd be.

    Magnet- We love to have you out again, bike or no bike.
    Sam- The board track seat is an original, we took some wood stain to give it that old look. I'm not sure how hard it would be to recover a bike seat. There is alot of contours to them.
    Scott- As usual were really not sure what were doing this year ( I know it's getting late!!). Like always it will probably come to me in a dream!!! LOL
