Event Coverage 3rd Annual SWMO Hot Rod Hundred Reliability Run - March 26, 2016

Sure would like to come to this but I haven't got the Willys road ready yet plus I have some other obligations I had committed to already so enjoy the ride

 

My 51 is still apart but getting closer, so I'm riding along again in the black 62 unibody with a coworker. If I get lucky I might have the 51 together for NW Arkansas. It would have to be really lucky .

A good portion of this route goes through my teen stomping grounds, so it'll be cool to drive those roads again in an old truck with a good friend just like my high school days. Back then we just drove sometimes for the sake of driving... just to hear the pipes rap. I'm really looking forward to it!

 

Hey @wrenchbender, mark your calendar for June 11, and join us in Springdale, AR, September 17, for OkC, October, 8, for St Louis, and then again for April 15, 2017, for the 4th Annual SWMO run, over here in Springfield.

 

Here's my older daughter helping me get a picture of the actual tshirt We will have a limited supply available at the event, but will be ordering more for the future Hot Rod Hundred events remaining this year.

I've got my car all finished up! I'm going to wake up early tomorrow and put some miles on it then head to Springfield.

Hey Mike, how's Clarence coming along. If my memory is correct you did a crate engine swap and then had trans. issues. Sam

 

crate engine installed; T-350 rebuilt and installed (trans was the original problem); 8" rear overhauled; rear springs rebuilt (new bushings and pins) and with 10 minutes more work will be installed; new rear brake innerds bought (springs/wheel cylinders/etc.); new U-joints bought (15 minutes work). Need a day or two next week to have him on the road. I'll put the punkin and brakes in the housing and then install it as one piece. Family obligations prevent me from working on it today or this weekend.

Plan to drive him to Dewey 6 weeks from today.

Thanx for asking. Maybe the junk brothers can get to the SK-500?????????

It was a most enjoyable day! I think I heard Bret say there were 140 vehicles. Thanks to all the Crossmembers who put this together!

I didn't get any shots or much time to look at cars. Wildest thing, as one of the host club members, wa having @hoop and his lovely bride joining us all the way from M***achusetts!

 

156 total registered and club members. I think there were 8 who wound up having schedule conflicts and didn't show.

Thanks, Tim. I think I took 2 pics yesterday and spent all the rest of my time visiting with folks instead.

@cory27t , @gbrown , Dennis Parks, and @travisfromkansas were all there shooting photos, so I'm sure their photos will be showing up soon, too.
