shoot, just buy the Brookville, cause that's what you'll have by the time EVERY panel is replaced. And you'll save $5k.............:p

With THAT starting bid, the only thing getting crushed is the seller's hopes!:D

It's worth saving but at $30,000 is it worth the initial investment?

What's the line from the movie Corvette Summer. The parts of your car are worth more than the whole.
Cut the car up, sell the parts for a mint and buy a Brookville.

Everyone is testing the waters to see what the next "craziest price ever paid for a trashed 3W" will be. I find it all very interesting since I've had my 3W since '82, and I paid the THEN crazy price of $1000. Glad I kept it all this time.

    Is it worth saving? Yes.

Is it worth saving for the asking price? No.

This craze can continue for all I care. There are as many 32's as there are 350 belly****on motors it seems. So much for being unique and interesting.

That's true. Pretty much every show I go to, at least 25% of all the cars are 32' Fords. I'm pretty sure I'll be sick of them by the time this 75th anniversary stuff comes and goes.

I just can't believe the prices of them. Like, $30,000 for a rolling shell with a caved in roof? You've gotta be kidding me.

  19. Worth saving? Maybe. At that price? **** NO!

  20. AGREE! The Rodders Journal that had a 32 only format, was about the most boring Rodders Journal i own

Now THAT I can get in to! :D

Looks about the condition my A was in when i got it, for about 4 times the price. But, it still seems reasonable by todays standards, I like 5 windows better............

  22. Guys have saved cars that were a lot less to start with. The guy who got my Skylark thinks he is going to restore it. Even the fenders that looks like a giant chewed them up and spit them out.

As for this car, if you have the skills it would be child's play to turn this into a nice car - then what would it sell for? $50,000? $75,000?

Odds are this would sell if he listed it in the regular car categories where everyone would see it - the fact that it's in the parts car section tells me he doesn't really want to sell it very badly. This listing costs probably more if it does sell, like $6 up front plus a percentage of the final price; the regular car categories are $40 up front and $40 if you get a bid. What's $80 on a $30,000 sale?

  23. maby in about another 50 years at that price:eek:

Awww ****. I just bought that issue! I,m sure the kids will have fun with it.

This current madness with 32 prices is much like house prices in the U.K.
I don,t care what the market dictates, I,m not prepared to invest that much cash in something that,s just not worth it to me. You,ve got to stay realistic and not get caught up in the fever. Sure, make some money if you can but for a guy on a budget like me, with a family that takes prescedence over everything else, **** it, don,t get involved.
If you have to have a 32 but don,t have the wedge needed to get yourself a genuine piece of tin, have a re-think. Lifes too short for this **** and there,s a **** load of Model A,s about at realistic, family guy prices.

30K is £16500 over here and for that kind of money I could buy a lot better car than that old survivor.

The arm rests would bring 500 to 700 dollars on eBay ... :(
The doors would bring 5 to 7 grand ...

    That said ... that's a LONG WAY from 27 thousand ...

I would not pay 27 grand for it ... :)
But I would not be surprised ... if it sells ...

27 grand is not a lot of money to some folks ...
If Brookville was not making theirs ... it would sell and for more than the 27 grand IMHO ...

    ;)

Just depends on how you look at it. At that price it is doubtfull he will sell it at all, and probably not the first time listed. $40 a pop to not sell, sure adds up fast. Sure listing it in parts will cost more in the long run but ONLY if it sells. If he has to list it 10 times with still no sale $40 a pop is $400 bomes into Ebays pocket. Other way it's $60.
