Technical 3x2 sbc intake question

    did they ever make a 3x2 sbc intake for an gm hei distributor ??
    i think i remember seeing or reading about one years ago???

    Probably not. Call Edelbrock that still makes them and ask. A gentleman who moved from So Cal to Yerrington Nevada made HEI’s on about every distributor available. I know he made them for early 6 cyl and V8 Chevrolets. Dave’s Small Body HEI’s

    Excel and a few others (80s-90s)
    made a Distributor with a GM Module form Hei mounted on outside

    Not that I know of or heard of--but-you can get the same/better performance from an MSD ready to run unit, the small one the same size as the early dual point Delco's. That's what I used and was totally happy with it, no maintenance and great performance. The one slight problem was $$$.

    On a Pontiac I'm running 3x2 on i couldn't fit an HEI in there i got a conversion kit and installed it in the original Points distributor . better spark and looks like the stock ignition system (if you care about that )

    ^^^^ another vote for going the stock size distributor conversion.

    That big ol modern HEI with a vintage looking 3 deuce setup is a total clash or era's and styles. Would stand out like 22's on a restored 55 Chevy.
