I think these all qualify, Dad's new Edsel, my '52 ford and the engine on a '33 Plymouth coupe (265 Chevy).

 

A few from my family cars pictures collection.

 

I have a bunch of photos stolen from the internet. I just went and looked and the square ones were definitely in the minority in the late 40's.
I don't own any square photos with cars, but here's a square negative of my pop in Lake Tahoe (?) with his 51 Mercury in 1953 or so.

Thanks to everyone that shares pics here. these help everyone to learn how it was, as we try to continue on with "traditional" ways. not coming from a car family not much to share. most of my car/motorcyle pics lost in many moves. Dad had hundreds of slides lost too. so keep pics comn'
