I may be imagining this, but I am almost certain that at one time someone offered a kit that bolted a 4-71 blower to a normal intake manifold ( by way of an adapter plate). I was thinking I saw /read this article in an early Popular Hot Rodding Mag.
I may be off my work bench. I have spent half a day looking through my stacks and I cannot find the article. Is it possible it was on a yellow 57?
Anyone know if this article /kit/ producer.
No search turned up anything or I didn’t type in the right thing.
    Thanks LMD.

I recall a thread here about the opposite, an adapter plate to bolt to the blower intake (don’t recall what size blower) to just run a carburetor.

I think speedmaster or someone offers the carb to blower manifold but I was thinking it went exactly opposite. Ive seen a picture of a McCullough bolted to a stock 265 intake ( about 4 v belts ) and (more 2 barrels than in your wildest dreams ) in a 55 Chevy ? Dale Emory’s name pops into my head I think.
I have a couple of low rise dual quad intakes that I’d love to try either a 4-71 or 6-71 on. Just a thought

Gary Dyer use to make a lot of blower manifolds out of four barrel manifolds....When you make one you got to make sure you have a backfire valve in the system....On cold mornings you will need it....

From my experience you need to give the engine a couple, or even three pumps on the accelerator pedal in cold weather. Consider the blower and manifold is a large plenum and getting it good and wet in there will help prevent a lean backfire.
Back in the ‘80’s we went to a North Shore Rods event in the Fall, it was a cold, windy day and in fact there were snow flurries. Starting the engine as described gave no problem.

big deuce that’s the stuff right there. Hemihotrod66 it may very well have been a Dyers kit or article but that will give me a starting point to search. You can be off one letter on the search and you hit zero.

It was done for applications that a blower manifold was not available, or for street applications that wanted a thermostat connection before aftermarket blower manifolds so equipped were available. If you have access to a milling machine it's not that hard to due. I have seen both single and dual four barrel manifolds modified. You need to mill the carb mounting surface flat so when you are done the blower pulley and crankshaft pulley are parallel. Then make the adapter plate to mount the blower.

I used an Edelbrock SY1 intake (Smokey Yunick), a two piece design manifold.

IMG_0600.png I made this one years ago. But it has its advantages to only having one surface/flange to worry about. I was just wondering if my memory was correct. Maybe hoping someone still has a plate /adapter hanging on the wall. I had to mill the base flat then also but simply bolted to the head and mounted to the table and let the mill eat I guess I could use a base gasket for 4 or 6-71 like I did with this one . Make the plate and position as need before bolting or like I did in that case welding. I then turned around and took about .015 more off to guarantee it was flat . View attachment 5719420

I seen & leaned from my elder family members late 40s & 50s , installing Multi carburetors to straight 6 intakes , by welding extra carb flanges , & making a plate to bolt to carb flange to mount a blower ,
Nothing new Home made speed parts,& I have seen a magazine article (do not recall if it was a car magazine, ) from the late 50s or early 60s doing the same thing with the blower mounting,
( plate made to bolt to single carb flange )
