I'm building a cross-flow inline-four; I'm going for a traditional track roadster look; and I think I'm going to use a new pair of Stromberg 97s.

Completely, completely traditional would be a pair of updrafts; out of curiosity, I'd love to see suggestions and sourcing info on these, but...

...More doable and pretty much trad as well would be a (round) log manifold, both 97s placed latitudinally, i.e., parallel with the crankshaft. The log would also serve as a plenum area/balance tube, but...

...More contemporary (and way less traditional) thought would have the round log portion replaced with a larger box-section plenum, both carburetor venturis still oriented latitudinally, across the crankshaft.

...And those dual two-venturi Strombergs could be rotated 90-degrees each, so the venturis are oriented longitudinally, ducted one venturi per port.

    Thoughts?

Thoughts? What are you actually building and what are your actual questions past where to find info on updraft carbs?

Other than that, yeah those all work.
