Technical 4 link options

    Hi guy/gals brand new to hamb. I have a52 hardtop has anybody ran a parallel 4link rather than triangulated in a airbag setup. It's probably been spoken about sorry couldn't find thread if it has. Thx Ryan

    It can be done but most of the bagged cars use a truck arm setup that lets them get low. Usually have to "C" notch the frame and cut out most of the floor. Not my cup of tea but it is safe and the ride is acceptable.

    You can run a parallel 4-link with bags, but you still have to make spring mounts (bag mounts) and shock mounts. You also have to run a panhard bar of some sort to control side to side motion of the rear axle. Since that ends up being a whole bunch of components in what could be a fairly tight area, especially if you don't plan on cutting up the floor, it is often easier and simpler to do the truck arm setup that aaggie mentioned.

    Obviously not a '52 frame, but it gives you a good example of a truck arm setup
