Hot Rods 4 lug wheels

    i have a 8.8 out of a mustang for my model a it has 4 lug other than not as many wheel choices are there any down sides to running 4 lug...i cant seem to figure out why people keep telling me to swap to 5 lug

    Wheel choice would be the only reason as I have seen 10 second Mustangs with 4 lugs, so strength is not an issue.

    Not much of a choice for 4 lugs. I gave up on the Corvair.

    You can have a machine shop redrill the axles to a 5 lug pattern, then run 5 lug wheels.

    You can buy all the parts you need at your local pick-a-part. One side of an explorer 8.8 is the same length/spline and already 5 lug so you'll be stripping one side of two trucks. Grab the 5 lug brake parts when you're there, but be sure those come from opposite sides so the hardware is correct. Few minutes on a 5.0 board and you should have all the spotters info you need for the yard. good luck

    Use TWO LEFT side ranger 8.8 axles..you can use the drum brakes also..
