i can't really give you any tips on how strong a particular tranny might be but performance-wise i like the 5-speed. i put a new crate 350 in the coupe last winter along with a 5-speed from a '86 camaro IROC-Z. i had a gm 4-speed saginaw tranny in it for 2 years and with the 373s in ford 8.8" rearend, on the highway and running at 70 mph i was turning about 2800 rpms and it seemed like the motor was screaming. i switched to the 5-speed and now at 70 mph i'm turning 1900 rpms...big difference. just a thought man, mike

The s-10 2.8 v6 will almost bolt up. Search the forum for it. It's a T-5 tranny.

Mike, what RPM were you turning when you passed us coming home from the Road Agents show last July? Sounded like screaming to me. or was that you screaming because you son was driving? LOL
