so I had a t-bucket project that I hated, so yanked the body on friday and bent some tubing up until an hour ago, still have a ways to go, build steering, belly pan structure, radiator, and hand brake...then some skin with lots of rivets, have a set of 40 ford wheels, 750's out back and 650's up front...poker run is the goal

anybody know if you get a modern power sprintcar steering box, if you plumb it to return on its self will it feel normal? ie: no pump hooked up

Who's gonna give you the dirtiest looks -- Little Old Ladies (of either gender and any age) or the local DoRight Boys?

Wish you guys would quit giving me ideas -- I'm far enough behind as it is! :)

Please show us more as the build progresses!!

  13. Damn Dude; If I didn't know better I'd say that was a 32 Rockney grill you you have there. If so you wouldn't happen to still have the insert laying around would you?

Looks cool, bro. Do a search on the "Boneshaker". It's kinda sick, too.

I need a 15". When did you get out? I see you had some crazy ideas while incarcerated. I like it!

I think the grille is 34 chrysler, the one in my avatar looked just like that before the top was reshaped so the whole assembly could lay back and still look right.

...and clean up that dump!!! Is the red "racer tape" your version of a canvas body? Lot faster to hang than fabric and dope I 'spose! You really are an innovator/visionary!

I just got released, technicality, Manson almost made it behind me...I have a patina (rhymes with vagina) 15" Eric gave me years ago cause Bruce was a big baby and had to have my original one for that roadster he used to care about, red tape is what I use so you guys can see what I'm doing otherwise your all lost and don't understand how it all goes together.

Are you saying I can have the one on Bruce's roadster then? He's going to be pissed so you tell him you changed your mind. He told me he was thinking of parting it out anyway.

Modern Sprint Car boxes are very quick ratio,
meaning they will be VERY stiff without power.

Take a look at the Aluminum Mopar steering boxes.

Looks cool. I'd lower the seat and put a boat tail on it (styled like a cut down 40 Ford hood). Then you'd have a rod that looks similar to the older open wheeled Indy cars. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the progress.

That is going to be fucking slick.

  28. This is cool as hell!! Are you going to skin it aluminum or tin? A Bugatti style tail, like a board tracker would be cool, and easy to do. Killer car!!! Do you have a louver guy in your neighborhood? You're going to need a couple hundred!

  29. The build looks great! I would bring the seat down as far as you can (too much of you sittin' in the wind right now)... and then weld a safety yoke around the driveshaft for "just in case"
