Somehow being out West were things don't rust makes this ok with me. I just hope when the time comes that everyone will get a chance to give all the vehicles a new home, and some dogooder doesn't demand they be crushed on the spot by weeks end.
Thanks for posting this stuff Brigrat. Its nice to know there are still a few places like this left out there! I used to bird hunt in Eastern WA.[at least I know its East of Snoqualmie pass] every fall when I was a kid[late 60s - early 70s] ,them old farmers & scroungers liked to round iron up and hang onto it! Love the "anti rain device" on the A coupe motor, a cinder block. Are you the guy with black Willys that shows up at the Arlington Dragstrip reunion? See Ya John
Those Model A's are in much better shape than the one I have now. Snowman, I did score the stock frame so I will have the 46 or whatever front and rearend that I will part with. Not too many people that I know that are building stockers.
He's an ebayer. I swear i saw this car/owner in a pic on an ebay listing a short while back while searching for parts for my 41 Packard!
How cool is that if true! All he needs is tape and boxes and he has an income for life. He is my HERO!
Hot Rod Ta Hell, you have a wild imagination! I posted that pic here on the HAMB about a year ago on a "Hearse" thread. I guess anyone could have taken that pic and did anything they wanted with it. This guy lives in a rat invested shack with his dog AND is a very inteligent, happy, needs nothing more kind a guy. He is truley his own man, does what he wants when he want's. I don't think he even knows what the internet is let alone have a computer. Heres a big hint for you Easter Egg hunters, Big Sky............................. Happy Easter guy's & gals! Well said 37 kid!
I just cant understand why, if they value this stuff, they are more than happy to let it rot? Yeah its great that he is happy with his life, but why not make someone else just as happy by letting some of this go? I hope he lets some of this land in your hands Big Rat, its enough to make a car guy cry. Doc.
Like said this is just one of his stashes, I have been to 3. The '32-'34 Fords were bought out a few years ago, endless Model "A" trucks and coupes and '34-36 Ford trucks. Several desirable Converts. The pic's I posted was nothing of what is out there, it's overwhelming. He has a set figure for cars/trucks and that's the figure period. He takes no money till it's out in the open and you pic it up. Cars that are easy to get to he sell first, as you can see in the pic's some of this stuff you can't get to, he has painted himself into a corner so to speak. He still has dreams of taking this part and put on that car to make a hole one @ 84 years young. I have interest in 3 projects there that's it, after that I do hope others will be able to save some of these or at least keep what you have on the road with parts from here.
He has never entertained the idea of a "Crusher", he has been known to buy out old wrecking yards before the crusher arrives. Even when the price of scrap metal was at it's high it was never a thought. Now if he dies at some point who knows what will happen ..................
Lon, I wanted to wholeheartedly thank you for taking the time. Not just for posting pics but for what you're doing behind the scenes. The back story has been told to me. you're making at least one person very, very happy - and making a great friend in the process. Looking forward to every update, both here and privately. Enthusiasts like yourself make this hobby fun!
You have to be patient with him....I bought one of the '30 Model A's in Brigrat's pics back in February and I am still waiting for the yard owner to get it out of the yard. I convinced him to let me put some money down to give me piece of mind but he really did not want to take any. Brigrat is right, this is a really good old guy that knows his stuff. He can tell you what year make and model every car in his yards are and also when and where he got them from....
Yada Yada Yada....I'm so fricking jealous I want to kick the dog!! I really hope he sells the good stuff before it's worthless!
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! iwant ten minutes in there
That Cadillac coupe looks to be solid and buildable. My sister really loves the big cars of the '30s--if she saw that picture, she'd be sending favorite brother-in-law westbound with the trailer.
Get on that guys good side so when he kicks the bucket he leaves it all to you. Then we can have a HAMB blue light special sale. Everything must go!
2Deuces64.. it almost looks to be in central Washington, hilly and desert like.... if it were Montana easten side of the mountains.. FLAT.... we could see the chrome shining in Alberta..
Just a thought... has anyone spent time on Google Earth? A yard that big has to look like something from space!? If anything it's a fun way to kill time!
OK THIS IS JUST A JOKE... I REPEAT THIS IS JUST A JOKE............... With all the stuff out their I say we go kidnap the old fella, take him somewhere, keep him happy with women, wine and song, OR Drugs.. Whatever it takes ta keep him happy and then we can dull out the booty to each and everyone on the HAMB by way of a number/order system that we signed up on the HAMB, Hell I was number 22 thousand or so and I'll still be able to get something nice! All I can say is DAMN IT MAN !
WOW. That's got to be about the best junkyard thread that I've seen yet. Thanks! I think he's gonna have to live to be a gillion and 3 to have time to build all those cars, though.
HOLY CRAP! This has to be BIG SKY country because we should have heard about this in eastern WA. But it could be a few miles from my house and I might not knowof it. Jees so much potential I could have a completed car in weeks with acces to all those parts. Chris
