    Here's where I left off; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258632
Since then, got the trunk floor in with a little more help from Hiboy 32 (jeff) Just decided to use sheet metal in the trunk and also replaced the floor pans with stamped pieces from Paul Bradley out of No. Carolina (very nice pieces) the tunnel was good so left it in. The rockers, 1/4 piece's,rear pan and tool tray also got replaced all from EMS. Got the body back on the chassis, had 128 louvers punched in the hood and started mocking everything up. Bolted everything on the core motor to make sure everything is going to fit where it is supposed to. Roadburner1 (Davey) gave me a hand with the custom alt. mount some fab work on the brake and clutch pedal****embly and a cool little column drop. All the plumbing is complete front to back, driveshaft is in and exhaust including speedways new ramshorn manifolds and flowmaster mufflers. Still have to run the dump pipes. New walker radiator. a kick**** gauge panel from Karl Knecht @ Knecht equip Co. in Arlington Tx. holds the speedo, volt meter and water temp. a matching panel will hang under the dash and hold the oil pressure and fuel all by S.W. The tach is vintage, found it at the Pile-Up swap along with the white superior 500 wheel. The real motor is being built in Sioux City Ia. and should be ready by the middle of Feb. 283 sbc, bored 30 over nice little bump stick, double hump heads that have been milled, ported and flowed, roller rockers forged crank and pistons. I'll run either the 4x2 set-up in the pic's or a vintage low-rise 2x4 intake with 2 500 edlebrocks. The plan now is to take it to the body shop where he will pre-fit all the panels and gaps, then take the body back off the chassis so he can continue the body work and I can bring the chassis back home blow it all apart, paint everthing and re-assemble it for the last time. Then I'll take it back to the body shop where we'll put the completed shiney black body back on the chassis and Tom will re-assemeble all the body panels. I'll still have alot to do when I get it back ( wiring, interior, trim, glass etc.) but really want to be driving it this summer, maybe at the HAMB Drags. Heres a few pic's. Gary

My original thought was not to run a hood at all, but I thought I'd go ahead and get it louvered and painted and probably put it on for long roadtrips. With the car being black and the firewall a creamy white, should make the engine really pop. Gary

Hell yeah! This thing kills. I love '40s anyway though. Especially with no hood. I can't wait to see it with it's new paint and louvers. Nice job.

Damn Gary, you really have been humming right along. It's looking good. Too bad I don't live a little closer, then at least I could come and get in the way.

    Lookin` good Gary!!!

I was out in the garage today working on mine...I still need to replace the floor, the entire back window and panel above the trunk lid. Install swing pedals...and on and on and on.

Hope to see yours at the drags at MoKan.

Very nice . Rusty was telling me about it yesterday . I love louvers but I also love 40's wiyh the hood off . It would be really a tuff decision because yours looks good both ways. It will be one of those cars you can only get a pict of it with the hood down when its driving.

Here is basicly what the pedal/mc****embly looks like. The swing pedals came from Summit part # TRD 4149 and the M/C I got at Oriellys part # 10-34404. You do have to swap the guts side to side on the M/C as documented in a few tech articles here on the HAMB and also a real nice article in Street Rodders last issue (March 09)
We added the hime joints and push rods and also made the bar across the front of the pedal****embly to make sure the pedal push rods will never come back to far. The clutch side is hard lined down to the frame where it meets a flex line about 1' long that completes it to the willwood slave cylinder mounted to the frame and clutch fork. Gary

looks great Gary. Might be the motivation I need to attend the Mokan HAMB drags. Too bad my stuff isn't so well done, but it would be fun to run you.

Will you put the coupe on a trailer and tow it with the Girlie Man Schleptline truck?"-)
