32 ford coupe. I've been running a 9 leaf Socal sourced rear 40 buggy spring with their tubular crossmember with a flat spring perch and dogbones for several years. Basically the same setup as in the attached pic. Spring is sagging out a bit now and I'm wondering if attaching/tightening the spring to the flat plate on the crossmember is contributing since the 2 dogbones clamp it with 4 1/2 bolts. I'm thinking maybe a curved mounting surface on the spring perch might be better all around. I don't even think the car will sit level if they aren't tightened equally. Thoughts and ideas are appreciated.

I welded some shims up in there. I think I used a couple inches of the ends of a leaf on each side.

I built a lot of customer chassis with my own version of a rear cross member consisting of a 3/16th wall 1.50 square tube with a laser cut 3/8 thick spring plate recessed into the tube and the spring held on by a pair of dog bones with 4.5 X 1/2 inch bolts. I always used a spring pack from Posies with a custom main leaf I had made locally. Never had any complaints about settling. Always designed the rear spring mounts so the spring shackles were at 45 degrees when loaded. Also never used a rear panard bar.
