Here's another one near done--going to uph tomorrow--Folkstone grey,62 327--axle car starting on a 40 Woody in a couple of weeks for a friend
Beautiful thing to see. You've become one of the Masters of putting together a top flight '40 every time. Outstanding car.
Beautiful rig brother, tasty as tasty gets! Love the clean color, less is more. Nailed it! ~Sololobo~
for those who asked--pretty much just a nice driver-10/1 327,Sig split duration cam, turbo 350 with 2000 stall,8 inch ford re with 3.00 gears-stock column converted to shift auto with detents (see at bottom of column for detent lock) gear indicator is behind speaker grille with AC vent--the 40 Woody I am starting on next week will be the same--pretty std and reliable combo--the woody is painted and rolling hope to have it done in a couple of months-coupe will be gone for 1 month for uph-this one took 4 months-but I'm retired so that helps but only do about 32-35 hrs a week As a side note--took wife and I 2 full days to get the hood/grille/fenders to line up as they should--and we have done 6 of them--this one was not too bad
Will it run with or without running boards? It looks fantastic, by the way. The colour looks spot on - what is it?
Great looking 40. The first hot rod I ever rode in was my buddies 40 Ford. Got me hooked .....Guess thats what brings me to the H.A.M.B 45 years later
Is that three 40's in your garage now? Sure turning out nice. Hope to be posting pictures of mine soon.
for those who asked-uph guy wants boards off so he doesn't have to worry about covering them while at his shop--should be home in a month--then just finetuning and gettin the bugs out--while it is gone, I will be working on a 40 Woody with the same treatment--will post some pics when it arrives
Funny, you and I PM'd awhile back and you said you'd be done with this one soon - I checked when you sent it and damn if you weren't right on when you said you'd have it done! Great looking car - that color looks so GOOOOOOD on a 40!
Respect is hard to come by. You have mine. A car as nice as the two you have shown us, the one in your avatar, and that in the post, exhibit a refined taste rare in the hobby. Keep up the good work.
Thats a nice coupe, love the color, and the firewall wiring, very nice. Didn't see anything about the front end, is it a beam or IFS? If you don't mind i may ask you questions about putting my 40 together when i get stuck, particularly the hood!!
Yes, I am curious about your front end ***embly. Did you have to elongate any of the bolt holes? I have a situation where I had to elongate the inner fender panel's holes at the frame. I had to do this so I could shift the inner fender panel forward for the hood to align with the grille.
For those who asked--PM me if you need specific info on aligning sheet metal--have done 6 or 7--also this is an axle car as all of mine are-glad to answer any questions about front sheet metal, etc--as stated, wife and I got this one very close, then spent another 12 hrs in the garage getting it right-gaps, etc.
