I have a set of 40 ford front hubs/drums. Can the hubs be separated from the drums and then the original drums be used as slip on style drums much like boling brothers and others offer?

Anything’s possible. But they are a very tight fit of drum to center. And the studs are swedged, so they would need to be cut and then replaced. All the 40 drums I’ve removed got bent, but I wasn’t really trying to save them.

  3. The only ones that can be be used like that are the ones with the hub on the inside of the drum. Cut out the swedge studs PROPERLY, ream out the old drums, put in new serrated studs in the hubs and you're done.

Weld a short piece of tubing to a plate. This is the support for pressing out the lug bolt. Mine has a notch to clear the gussets 2024-03-29 21.49.39-1.jpg 2024-03-29 21.49.39-2.jpg on the back side of some hubs. Press out the old bolts or slam them out with a B F H. No need to remove ridge that holds the lug bolt in. Never bent a hub. Check Dorman catalog for replacement bolts with serrations.
