Are there any problems with putting a 40 pickup front clip on a 47 cab? Thanks for any info

  2. pretty sure the cabs are the same so with a change of running boards as well I rekon it should work.

  3. I think the rear fenders are different also.

    from Texas .

Even tho the cabs are the same, they arent exactly the same. There is a bracket welded onto the 42-47 that is in the way, drill out the spot welds. There is a small 1940 fender mounting clip, kinda u shaped that you will need and theres no bolthole on the 42-47 so you have to drill it, and of course the 42-47 frame is longer so the 40 fender will not fit. I plan to use the 40 front crossmember in my 42-47 frame, narrowing the frame and cutting off the excess length, This will give me the famous 'hotrod bounce' that you see on an old Ford which has parallel rear springs and the transverse front spring.
I want to Z the 42-47 frame in the back to get the cab mounted as low as the 40

Chris is right on; in a nutshell they'll 'fit' but it's not a bolt-in swap.
