40 ford PU rear axle width?

    Hey People,

    Does anyone know the width of a 40 ford pickup rear axle? Or What is a common axle the right width to use? I've got dual pattern wheels so GM's cool also.

    The original rear end was 60 inches wide.

    57-59 Ranchero and station wagon rears, 57.25 inches
    66-77 Bronco 9", 58 inches
    77-81 Granada/Versailles, 58 inches
    67-71 Comet, Cougar, Mustang, Fairlane, 59.25 inches
    71-73 Mustang, 61.25 inches
    64 Falcon 58 inches
