I think it's a super deal if you want a high-tech Street Rod...not so much if you are into traditional rods

It Seems Fair To Me After Having 11 Of Them If That Is What You Were Planning On Building Before And Keep In Mind It Is Really A Buyers Market These Days...Worth Pondering... 20953016_2017704415131987_5121273698155947723_n.jpg

It looks like a good project at what could be a fair price . Close inspection and a realistic look at your skills and or your pocket book are required before making it yours.

Someone with a desire to own a Street Rod version of a '40 Sedan Delivery would be well on their way..probably more of those people than us traditional types.

Projects can be tough to sell, people don't always possess the vision, skill or motivation to carry it out..therefore typically a deal can be had.
The price seems reasonable with the information provided, would have to see it in person.

    Hey E,

That certainly looks like a great start. It does not matter what parts are under the hot rod. It can be as traditional on the outside as any old sedan delivery. If we (or anyone) saw this primered version road worthy and cruising down the street, we would all take a good look and perhaps break out our digital cameras for a photo.

Having owned 2 different but similar in looks 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods over a teenage and 20 something era, they were very cool to drive and own. They were both sold when the time came to do family stuff and since then, they have been in the back of our minds and memories.

These days, if we were 20 years younger and had a third car garage, that sedan delivery would be in that 3rd garage. The price is right for continuing or getting a start on doing the detail and final steps to making it a road worthy hot rod. Everyone, including my wife liked Lee Bright’s yellow 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery. If it had not just been finished, my wife would have bought it on the spot, when we saw it in San Diego, many years ago.

Despite what most see as a street rod, sedan delivery hot rods can take on just about any style on the outside, while enjoying the SBC and A/C during short and long road trips. It is how you build it and detail it to your specs. This one has a lot of cool stuff and is a good platform to begin the road to the finished or somewhat road worthy finished project.

Get it, make it road worthy and enjoy the sedan delivery and everything it offers. Ignore the negative comments. For most, it is money and distance that is talking, as well as jumping on the "NOT TRADITIONAL" bandwagon. Who's tradition? Our hot rods are all not traditional in someone's eyes, even my 2 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods were disliked by someone.

Yeah, just like you if i was 20 yrs younger i would be on it. But being retired and not having much money coming in to spend, i am down to my 40 pickup and i am blessed to have that. When i put a car on here like that, i hope one of the Hambers pick it up. Exterminator

With C4 suspension and drivetrain it'll be a nice driver when finished. Put some steelies on it and don't open the hood. It seems like folks are asking a mint for Sedan Deliveries these days, but also the market is soft on the old stuff. If you've always wanted a SD I'd say pull the trigger if it's not a cobbled up mess. If you're looking to profit or flip it, may not be room there. But then again if you're looking to profit you're in the wrong hobby.. ;)

    Hey Lou,

I will never get tired of hearing such kind words. I thank you very much. The older I get during these trying pandemic times, it just gets to be an open field of how one looks at the life we have lived. It also allows us to see how it fits into the whole scheme of things. Hot rods were a big part of our lives growing up. We tried to continue that fun time with our future lives and it was difficult with other major family issues that became more important.

Now, that we are grown up and surviving the hectic times, one can step back, look at the whole scene, and have nice thoughts that come up.

Again, thank you for those kind words and my wife thanks you, too. We have been together since 1966 and have gone through the first big time pandemic as newlyweds in 1968. So, as all of us got the required shots and medicine, the virus just gave up and went away for a while. It only has some time in our current state to show up as a yearly, ordinary flu virus that allows us to step back and let our bodies take over to get well.

So, if every one is healthy, follows the health codes and rulings, then we can overcome this one like we did the one in 1968. "Kindness goes a long way..." important quote from a smart college girl in 1967. (55 years worth)

    Hello,

This statement is simple as one can make it. But a few years ago, I was in the same position and did not know how to post a video of old drag racing and hot rods to this site. Here is the solution, step by step. I was a little intimidated by the big You Tube instructions and made many mistakes, even as they go screen by screen.

All of these years later, it is a simple process of open, copy, paste and not for kids label. Then it shows up on your You Tube channel. Why no kids label? If you select this, there are other screens and they are inconsequential to posting a hot rod video.

(But, please note, make sure your video is edited and is clear/concise and not shaky, out of focus on the wrong thing. No need to see all of the on/off moments. That will be hard to fathom and would make one want to skip it…) similar to out of focus photos copied from the internet and posted as large as possible.

It certainly is more pleasurable to see an in focus photo reduced to normal size, but yet, clear. Yes, they are old photos, but just reducing the overall posted size would probably make them clearer. YRMV

I showed it to my wife as she has an Iphone. For her, just upload it to her computer as a movie and now the fun begins.

Here is an old post for another HAMB member:

I was in the same position back in 2015 when I got my act together and finally digitized all of my photos, video tapes, and old 16mm color films. But now, how was I going to put them on a website for some history of So Cal hot rod and drag racing scene during our teenage days? The raw films will not show up on any websites.

I was also given plenty of suggestions from photo film making programs, websites to store stuff and they were noted and thanked. I thought the first time I sent the films to various websites that they would edit them and post sections for all to see. But, the simplest way is to edit your own films. Using the built in film processing programs don your computer, edit, cut and rearrange your films the way you want.

Then look up You Tube for instructions. It is the easiest way to get involved in posting your created films. When your edited films are ready, create a You Tube account and now your site will be called what you select. Mine is simple as it is called: J NAKI... J space NAKI someone else already had Jnaki.

Not the most popular for a following, but for those that like hot rods, drag racing and boat drags, it is there for the enjoyment. Someone mentioned that I am a novice. True, when it comes to people who like a limited topic like old historic films.

But, You Tube is great when it is necessary to get the films out there for people to absorb some history. Remember, if you have something against Google, move to another source, as Google owns You Tube. You have to have a Google account. And sign in prior to posting your new video.
    upload_2025-7-4_2-54-23.png
When you are ready, select the camera icon with a + on it. then the info tab plops down for more choices. Upload a video is the next step.
    upload_2025-7-4_2-55-9.png
Then all you do from here is to find the file in your folders, drag it into the black screen and it starts uploading to You Tube. But, first, edit and make the film virtually error free and that it gets right to the point. A jumbled mess on a big screen is still a jumbled mess.
    upload_2025-7-4_2-55-45.png
I am doing a new film from my archives.

    upload_2025-7-4_2-56-22.png
Selecting a thumbnail to show on the You Tube channel is simple. You can insert your own or let the “machine” select one from the uploaded video. It is easier to select one You Tube chooses. You have three choices. When people search for the actual video, this thumbnail is what they see, along with the ***le.
    upload_2025-7-4_2-57-3.png
Now, here is the crazy part: I always select not made for kids. It is fast and moves to the next screen. But, if you select for kids, then another page and instructions pop up. No need for the extra work. Kids see it anyway.

    upload_2025-7-4_2-58-4.png
If you want to be specific, fill this page out. But, it is a skip to the next page for me.

    upload_2025-7-4_2-58-45.png
Another skip to the next page choice.

    Here is the important page:
    upload_2025-7-4_2-59-33.png

If you select public, then it goes to You Tube page and all can see the new video. If you select the other choices, then it does not.

Hit Publish and it will give you a page and the content pops up for everyone to see and select. Select a topic for each film as you create it. Not something like “dogs, ” but “A Happy Yorkie…” You would be surprised at what topics and ***les are on that huge website. YRMV

Good luck and let me know if you need anything else before hitting the “publish” tab. Note: You as the original owner of your You Tube site can delete any film you select, even if it has been on for days or years.
