I need to sandblast the window garnish moldings on my '40 Ford and need to get the vent window apparatus out of the way. Can the two be separated or are they one piece? If so, how in the world do you do it?

You can; but you have to remove the rivets on the upper pivot point. when you buy new seals it will come with the new rivets. I just used stainless 10-32's instead of the rivets.

Thanks for the answer. I saw the rivets and thought that might be the deal, but didn't want to go hacking away and ruin the garnish molding without knowing what I was doing.
