    Hi Gentleman,
Would anyone have experience with 9 inch conversion into a 40 Mercury / Ford I assume Would be the same ? . Using original parking including original cables etc back to the rear callipers. Thank you in advance.

  2. You say "rear calipers". Is this a disc brake rear end? If so what ones? Drum rears are different.

    OK……
I have no idea on calipers.
On a drum system that most 9” rears use are a cable system.
    The basic jest is this…….
Most of the time a 2 or 3 cable system is used.

Front cable goes from dash/floor to a pivot arm under the car.
Now some designs use left and right cables, others use a single cable with pulley that works both sides.
The 2 cable system is the most common.
    So……
    Rear brakes to pivot arm
    Pivot to dash

    being this is a 1940 retrofit….
You are going to need to figure out what would work for your application.
Some of the pivot arms may be hard to find. You may have to make your own.
You have to figure out where to mount the pivot arm under the car. Maybe you can use the original. I don’t know.

See how the ‘40 system worked.
See how the donor car system worked.
You may have to figure out a system with both or use stuff from a similar sized car.
This is one of those things where you’ll have to figure out the combo.
