Can anyone tell me the dimension from spring perch to spring perch centers on a stock '40 Ford rear axle? We're using a '40 spring on the rear of the Jughead and about to tack it together this afternoon. Any help would be appreciated.

I went and measured and as close as I can tell it is 48" from center to center on the axle perch holes.I few of the folks I know use the 40 front springs on the back. Gives more room and is lighter. Just a thought. Good luck [IMG]

Dug, I have a 8" out back with the spring perches on the axle welded at 48" and with shackles the spring eyes are at 42.5 center to center. It is not 40, but A stuff, so I don't know if this will even help at all. And next Sat the 13th a bunch of us are going bowling at Lelani lanes for midnight bowling if you guys are interested...

Thanks guys but what I'm looking for is the actual STOCK perch to perch dimension on a '40 rear end. We're using a '49 Lincoln rear end with a '40 rear spring and '36 wishbones. I'll post some pics tonight after we get it tacked up but I need that center to center dimension.
