Sounds great Cory. I am sure you will enjoy the comforts of the sedan but don't abandon the roadster.

Very, very nice, and I love the tied wiring harness detail, congrats.

Man what a great car to start with. I am very envious of you. Damn fine work, maybe someday I'll actually see it as I am in the Detroit area too.

That sure could be Ryan's. The pictures are almost identical!

Based on the last build from CTaulbert, this is gonna be GOOD!

Well I got the front sheet metal back on the car the other day, and replaced the bumper bracket grommets. I did an initial fill of the Columbia (per the original manual), and ran the driveline for 10 minutes in high to circulate the oil throughout the overdrive unit. I need to get back under it and check out the level still, but at least I know the Columbia is in good working order.

The rear is sitting slightly high, but that's due to an empty fuel tank and the rear seat being out of the car. I think this should settle out nicely with a few miles on it.

Now I'm just waiting for the snow we got today to melt.....

Took the car around the block last night for the first time.....everything seems to be good on it. I have a few small details left like reinstalling the glove box, new weatherstripping, and centering the steering wheel left for this weekend.

    What a nice lope.

(I know it's not cool to say on here, but I like the Volt too.)

Sounds wicked! Nailed the stance, too. That's about how my '39 sits, now. Took a few tries...but my stock 59 AB won't hold a candle to that nasty lil' mother under your hood!

Sounds and looks great! My '37 should be sitting about like that some time this summer.

Best thing Ive seen In a while. Great taste. Also the car's originality is AMAZING.

  23. Did you have to shorten up the wishbone after pulling it together at the axle, so it would fit the ball socket?

Neat idea on the shock mounts!

That's one perfect 40 Tudor! Of course that's to be expected, you do amazing work. Wish my coupe was that nice. LOL

You sure can get the job done. I am retired and haven't done much in the 3 months you built your sedan. Keep up the good work and have GM transfer you to LA for the Winter months.

Yes, I had to shorten up the wishbones....if I remember correctly, around 1".

I can't take the credit on adding the gusset to the shock mounts. Danny Burroughs recommended it.

I had a hard deadline Lynn.....Lone Star Round Up, and I wanted to get some shakedown miles before setting out on the 3200 mile round trip.

I'd love to live in California, but I have no idea how someone can afford to move there (without hitting the lottery).....

I ended up going to Columbia route. I had a hard time getting exact dimensions from Mitchell, but I found out talking to people who had them that it wasn't going to clear the floor on this car with it sitting this low.

It's going to be on its way out to 296 V8 this summer, along with a '32 axle, to get dropped.

    Thanks - it's been a good car.

Looks like I haven't update this thread in a while.....the car is done now. I've just been tweaking a few details and continuing some shakedown miles. The engine runs great, trans shifts good, and the Columbia works nice too.

In 18 days, we'll be setting out on a 3,200+ mile trip to LSRU and back.....
