I have a question on a 40 willys hood. Where the seam goes down the middle of the hood, both edges in the front and back are flush. Around the middle area the top sticks over the bottom. all of the factory spot welds are in place and it appears I could disassemble the portion and make it even and flush. Now if I can explain this properly...going towards the back after the area where it does not fit flush, the bottom section along the seam on both sides has a small curve to it. I can't imagine the thing isn't made like this being the same on both sides. does anyone have a hood they can look at to see if it is anything like this?. also, is the latch and release handle all one unit? I bought this front clip and was promised by the seller to send me the handle that I forgot to get from him at the time and I guess he decided to keep it and not worry about what I may need..

My hood is the same way as yours. I can't help with the latch because I don't have one either.....Jay

jay, is yours curved under the seam towards the cowl at the back too?. see on this pic, it is like that on both sides up to the area in the middle where it overhangs. The front 1/3 of the seam is flush and even. I don't know if I should take the seam apart and even it up...or leave it alone as part of the character of the car?

Also, anyone, how many leaves are in your springs front and rear when setting one up for a gasser?
