sounds like we have a few of the 400 guys in the house! Great advice on the build, just get ya a junkyard 350 for the truck and build up the 400 right. You havent even mentioned those super cheap VORTEC heads that'll make this thing STOMP!!! They are worth around 50 hp alone and Cheap!

  2. Oh yes we did, ya gotta go back to the beginning of the thread.
This paper tiger has gone from a beater to a fire breather and back to a beater again. I don't like the cranks bigger than 3.75-3.85.
They just start windaging bad and you gotta run small base circle cams (torsion bars). The other problem can be that they make hugh
torque. On a small tire car or a big tire car with ****py suspension or an owner who doesn't what to do with all his rear suspension, they can be a bear to hookup. Guys are constantly calling wanting to build
blower, turbo, nitrous engines with 1.00 compression heights. From the piston side this like trying to pack 20lbs of **** in a 5lb bag. The baddest "power adder motors are always the ones that make the most power on motor, then "season it" with your boost/Nos. I've seen lots of good 370-400 inchers kill 427-460" small blocks

And your right, on a budget iron head motor, you can't the Vortecs.
