   Does a 348/409 chevrolet share the same bellhousing shape/bolt pattern as the other chevy V8s? ......will a 348/409 bolt in where a 350 used to be?

   It is the same pattern, I put a 409 in my 60 Chevy PU. It had a 283 used the same bellhousing, fly wheel, and clucth.
